Simmonds Equipment has the ability to single hot dip galvanize full size ISO width containers and baskets.
Full width containers were always a challenge in the past due to galvanizing kettles globally not typically being wide enough to accommodate a full width & full height ISO dimensioned container.
After a long learning curve of managing the balance between the flow of zinc through the container for sufficient coverage against the heat distortion generated from too long in the kettle, we now have a robust process which provides an excellent product.
Other companies have to build and galvanize the units in sections and then weld them together afterwards and cold galvanize the welds. This produces a really amateur product in comparison.
Our “galvanized only” products have been purchased extensively by our rental company customers for low maintenance. Our oilfield service companies are as concerned about the high cosmetic painted look finish as they are with the increased longevity that our galvanized products provide, so we offer all of our galvanized products with top coat paint options. All of Simmonds Equipment’s rental fleet is both galvanized and painted.
